The 207 GTI is a few generations later, in a world where everything is now big, heavy and safe. You just can't build small, lightweight cars like the 205 anymore…. not that it's a bad thing, for the most part, but it does mean we now need to rely on more power and better design to do the same job. Peugeot did OK on the design of the 207
Asked on 30 June 2014 by Pug 206. Answered by Honest John. That's a 4-speed torque converter auto. All transmissions suffer their greatest torque reactions changing from 1st to 2nd gears so these are the first to go. It's a toss-up whether to take it to a Peugeot dealer or to a member of www.fedauto.co.uk I'd favour the latter.
Solution: There are three possible reasons for this problem. It could be the engine control parameters, a defective gearbox, or an issue with the engine mounts. Start by doing a diagnostics check. If that reveals no issues, then you'll need to inspect the gearbox.
